The Truth: About Lifestyle Diseases

A very dear friend of mine is over weight and went for a routine check up to discover that she had High Blood Pressure (Hyper tension). She was stressed at work, and had no time to exercise or follow a healthy lifestyle. She ate out everyday from work but ordered the most expensive gourmet sandwiches, pastas, continental or Chinese with Diet Coke, she rarely ate heavy greasy Indian food. She knew she was over weight, but she thought by eating expensive continental food and avoiding greasy Indian she was being healthier than most.

When she went to meet her family doctor with the reports, I decided to go with her because I wanted to know how she was going to go about curing herself, it was my love and selfish motive to see her healthy that compelled me to go with her, It took 40 minutes of waiting in a crowded waiting area, till we were called in. After browsing through the reports for about a minute, and some polite conversation, the doctor put his pen to paper and as he was writing the prescription, these were his exact words “don’t worry beta, just cut out the fried and oily stuff, avoid salt and take this pill every morning and you will be ok. Whatever you do, make sure you take this pill every morning, you young girls these days have a lot of stress (chuckled), so this pill will keep the BP in control. Don’t worry, it’s all under control”

As we walked out, she had a huge smile on her face; she thought she had resolved her problem.

She had left the doctors office with no understanding of what was actually happening to her and why, all she knew was she has “High Blood pressure” and that to her meant exactly what the word spell out. She felt like she had to make no changes in her nutrition as she rarely ate greasy food. She also sheepishly admitted to me that she often binges on chocolates which she will cut down on. So in her head the combination of cutting down on chocolate and taking the pill for the rest of her life meant she was back to normal.

As I am a practicing Naturotherapist who cures through food, I was keen to see if she would listen to my take on High Blood Pressure. She saw the restlessness in my eyes, and giggled as she said “my dearest Sej, I know your methods are more correct, but its such a pain to eat only fruits and vegetables all the time, and I do eat them in my sandwich’s, but I cant take a risk of having High Blood Pressure, so I’m just going to take the pill, don’t worry, I will try and eat healthy too and cut down on the salt.”

What she does not realize is that Naturotherapy does not involve eating only fruits and vegetables, it is an entire lifestyle based on smart intelligent and informed choices.

I smiled to hide my helplessness, because I am believer in allowing people to make their own choices. And if they absolutely believe they know what’s right for them or are not even open to understanding their bodies, then so be it. I also believe everything happens for a reason, and even though I can’t help my friend, I believe this experience happened to me so I could share it with those who want to listen.

Today High Blood Pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and other lifestyle diseases are as common as a cold, and most people like my friend, believe that taking pills will cures them.

As a doctor of natural medicine I believe, continuous chemical intervention into a body’s natural processes has led to a host of complications and ailments. Western medicine looks to suppress symptoms and therefore works against the balancing forces of nature. That diarrhea, sneeze or rise in blood pressure is the body’s natural mechanism to cleanse or support itself but we continue to blindly suppress the symptoms whilst ignoring true root causes.

Furthermore our bodies are the most advanced pharmacies in the world but we callously supplement them rather than stimulate them to do the work they were designed to do. Our perception on our bodies is disempowering, we are made to believe that we do not have the ability to understand or comprehend the working of the body. The truth is that the answers actually lie within you; it’s a matter of tuning into your body as a way of life. The body has been created to perfection and carries out all functions flawlessly unless YOU disrupt it.

By disruption I mean, the type of lifestyles we lead. Today most of the food we eat is not wholesome, it is processed using chemicals to preserve and enhance taste, and its stripped of all its nutrients in the process, even the basics like Salt, rice, wheat and sugar are processed. To understand this better lets use my friend’s example; she believes she eats healthy by avoiding Indian greasy food, to an extent it helps, but what she doesn’t realize is that most restaurant food today is made using processed ingredients like poisonous refined salt, poisonous refined oils, MSG, taste enhancers, color enhancers, refined flour and refined sugar.

Refined Salt being of crucial essence here because what western medicine claims in reducing HBP, actually worsens it. IODIZED salt is bad for you and must be cut out. However to cure high blood pressure you need Salt, but natural salt (Rock Salt).

To add to this the Food & Beverages Industry has pumped the market with products like chips and soft drinks which are absolutely of no nutritional value but in fact severely damaging to the body. She believes that a Diet Coke will keep the calories in check, however it works just the opposite, as the chemicals used to manufacture coke or even worse diet coke are so toxic for the body, that it retains fat and water to dilute the water soluble and fat soluble toxins, thereby only adding weight.

With computers and internet, her need to move around has also decreased significantly, and she does not even get in the bare minimum movement that is required to keep your body and joints flexible and healthy.

Her decisions came from the fear of not wanting to be ill, which I understand, but the choices she made to achieve that goal is what I wanted her to question and hope you do too.

Allopathic medicine definitely has its place in the spectrum of miracle recoveries, if we take it for what it is — a stop on the path to wellness and wholeness. I wholeheartedly am grateful for the miracles that allopathic medicine has provided. When viewed as a component of the process of overall health, I think that it serves an important purpose. It’s just a matter of putting it all in the larger perspective and plan, and not abusing the function it serves, or using it for manipulative purposes.

As most correctly believed, a doctor protects your health and heals you. However, a “real doctor” actually visits you every day, every hour and every minute of your life.

You have medical supervision 24/7 and it’s absolutely free.

So it is very important you know who your “real doctor” is to start with.

Asking my patients about how well they understand their immune system, is one of the most important questions on my list.  The reason being, it tells me what and how much they know about their “doctor”.

Your immune system is your “true doctor” at a physical level.

We build our immune system by eating raw food and drinking the juices of raw fruits/vegetables, staying hydrated and exercising!!!

We immobilize our immune system by putting harmful substances into our body!!!

For example:  white table sugar (which is literally a drug), paralyzes the immune system. Just nine teaspoons of sugar (one soda pop contains 10), in a day will immobilize the immune system by about 33%, while approximately 30 teaspoons of sugar will wipe out the immune system from even functioning that day.

High fat intake, white table salt, Alcohol, cigarettes, refined and processed food, Caffeine and basically anything that is made artificially seriously impairs the immune systems functions.

All pharmaceutical drugs and pain killers adversely affect the immune system as well.

So check your own nutrition intake before passing the buck on to germs and virus.

Understanding your health, the food & beverage industry, your body, your environment and medicine is becoming more and more important in today’s world. With regards to health, ignorance is not bliss, it’s painful and immobilizing.

A healthy immune system can keep you from getting the flu, colds, cancer and other illnesses. A healthy diet means a healthy immune system. The Truth: About Alternative Medicine

Different therapies for different people

The truth is that all disease in the body, whether it is obesity or cancer, PCOD or tumours, diabetes or high blood pressure, depression or insomnia is ALL rooted in the mind. Over time as the mind is not dealt with, it starts to manifest as disease in the body purely to get your attention.

If you only work with the body and ignore the mind, you will in effect only be suppressing symptoms. If you work only with the mind, you can cure yourself in time but it requires a lot of dedication and time. The best balance is found when both are dealt with together and that’s where alternative medicine comes in.

Alternative medicine tackles both the mind and the body if used correctly.

A few Alternative therapies are: Homeopathy, Bach Flower remedies, Hypnotherapy, Craniosacral therapy, Rieki, Theta Healing, Herbal medicine, Hatha Yoga, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Nutrition, Shiatsu, Reflexology, Life Force Healing and the list goes on.

In a fast paced world, where everyone wants short cuts, western medicine works wonders. But short cuts only make your journey shorter, and as all wise ones say, life is a journey, enjoy the ride, and don’t be in a rush to get to the destination as it is the journey that matters. Your body is merely a vehicle chosen by your soul to experience life on earth. The quality of your vehicle will determine the quality of your journey.

Western medicine is not going to work in the long run purely because you cannot separate your mind and body,  or your soul and your body, or your spirit and your body, at least till you are alive. Your body is created for your soul and not the other way around. If you keep ignoring your mind/soul and only dealing with the body, sooner or later you will be ringing my doorbell as they all do.

Most of my cases comprise of people who have tried for years to suppress one disease after another by popping pills and over the years more and more complications have arisen finally making them realize “It’s not working.”

Let me explain this with an actual case study:

I once had this woman who was in her late 30’s and she had recurring urinary tract infections, PCOD and recurring vaginal yeast infections. She had tried enough medication and had drunk all the cranberry juice she could get her hands on. She had even modified her diet using basic logic of less spice, less fried etc. Unfortunately over years the medication had caused acidity, face breakouts, IBS, constipation and lots of discomfort and pain most of the time, she eventually started taking sleeping pills as she couldn’t get sleep with the pain. Her body had also stopped reacting to pain killers, and last but not the least she had started experiencing mood swings, all in all she had been battling this since she was 17 and had spent 15 odd years living with the fear of pain and getting sick.

When she came to meet me, she wanted to understand nutrition and how she could eat more correctly to resolve this problem. She had done her research and had understood that specific foods can heal specific problems.

What she hadn’t researched, was her own life. In Alternative Medicine that’s the first thing that’s done. It is important to understand broadly, what experiences the patient has had that could be life altering for the future.  As I started my research on her life, I learnt that she had been sexually abused for 3 years by her uncle. She was 11 then and scared and obviously it hurt. She hadn’t told anybody about it, as she was told by her uncle that no one would believe her. Being at that tender age, a child is incapable of handling such situations. Her abuse only ended due to his sudden death.  And as he existed no more, she buried it deep down feeling shameful and eventually thought she had moved on.

Having noted this I asked her about her sex life in her current relationship and sure enough she was single at that time. As I dig deeper into her past few boyfriends, the deep rooted fears of her sexual abuse as a child start to emerge as a pattern in her life today, she couldn’t hold a relationship mostly due to sex. She found sex very uncomfortable and it often started off the infection. it was the infections that made her believe she was unable to enjoy sex, thereby avoiding it which eventually would chase the men away, leaving her single and frustrated.

The case had many more facets that revealed her strengths and weaknesses; however this particular trauma of sexual abuse had manifested into vaginal issues and was affecting her today. Her mind had associated sex as painful and non pleasurable. But being in her 20’s where consciously consensual sex is normal and healthy for girls that age, her subconscious mind associated it to painful and traumatic and not pleasurable, and that’s why it hurts her when in fact it is supposed to be pleasurable. Deep down buried was a fear of sex, and the infections were her body retaliating to trauma that she had not released.

It was clear that she needed to release this fear and release the anger that had built up over the years for not being able to share it without being judged or trusted, it was important to release all thoughts of shame as it is not shameful at all. While working with the mind either through hypnotherapy or theta, the body is simultaneously addressed and healed through natural foods step by step with a change in lifestyle v/s crash diets.

And that’s what alternative medicine is all about. It’s about using techniques that deal with resolving traumatic experiences that you are carrying for years. It is a form of healing that acknowledges your fears and traumas for real.

Western Medicine deals with the body, Nutrition also deals with the body. However till the mind is not addressed, you can pop as many pills as you like or eat all the fruits and vegetables in the world. In the long run, it is not going to work!

The Truth: About Germs

It all started in the mid 18th century.

It was that One crucial debate on “The Germ Theory” between 2 microbiologists Louise Pasteur and Antoine Bechamp that changed the world forever.

Pasteur and Bechamp strongly disagreed in their bacteriological theories and it was this argument that changed the course of Medicine.

Pasteur’s theory was accepted and Bechamp’s theory was rejected. Modern Medicine and True Health parted ways because of this.

Pasteur’s discovery — that most infectious diseases are caused by germs, also known as the “germ theory of disease,” is one of the most important in medical history. His work became the foundation for the science of microbiology, and a cornerstone of modern medicine. Pasteur’s Germ Theory promoted a theory of disease that described non-changeable microbes as the primary cause of disease. This is the theory of monomorphism. This theory says that a microorganism is static and unchangeable. It is what it is. Disease is caused by microbes or bacteria that invade the body from the outside.

Bechamp held the view that microorganisms can go through different stages of development and they can evolve into various growth forms within their life cycle. This is the theory of pleomorphism. He observed microbe like particles in the blood which he called microzymas. These microbes would change shape as individuals became diseased, and for Bechamp, this was the cause of disease; hence disease comes from inside the body.

Bechamp’s research proved, what the root cause of disease was, and how it could be reversed or avoided altogether using safe, natural methods. This was long before the synthetic drugs, chemotherapy, radiation, surgical removal of body parts and vaccines with which we are all so familiar today became the mainstays of mainstream medical treatment. Bechamp’s work showed that the inner condition and health of the cells (sometimes described as the “terrain” in works of the time) determined whether disease would manifest or spread in the body. He proved through rigorous scientific method and repeated experiments over many years that disease was not due to germs attacking the body from the outside, as Louis Pasteur later convinced the world. What you eat, breathe, drink, and bathe in are the primary factors that determine your body’s inner condition. ‘Germs’ arise as a result of a diseased condition. They are a symptom, not the cause.

Western medical science went with Pasteur’s theory and Unfortunately modern medicine or allopathy as we know it, is based on the Pasteur’s germ theory. Since the 1850s, they have been developing new drugs to attack and kill the disease invaders(germs) and the result has been epidemics of cancer, sicknesses and diseases — and a very rich and powerful pharmaceutical industry.

When Pasteur was on his deathbed, he finally acknowledged Bechamp’s work and said, “Bechamp was correct: the microbe is nothing: the terrain is everything.” It was a 180 degree turnaround. With his death imminently at hand, he as much as admitted that his germ theory had flaws. But his admission fell on deaf ears. It was far too late. It could not reverse the inertia of ideas that had already been accepted by mainstream science at that time. Allopathic (drug based) medicine was firmly entrenched on the road that was paved by Pasteur.

Pasteur’s germ theory has actually made us place the responsibility of our health into the hands of poor germs and virus who really mean us no harm.

Germs are everywhere. All living things on Earth are interdependent on other living things, the entire scenario being in a rather fine balance. All forms of life are capable, in varying degrees, of adapting to environmental changes, and germs and viruses have been doing that from time immemorial. They are part of the scenario of life, they have a role to fill and a purpose to serve as part of Nature’s “Grand Design”.

The truth is that germs (bacteria) are everywhere and they are attracted to and proliferate in dis-eased tissues.  Bacteria decompose dead matter.  That is their job. For instance, when a tree dies, bacteria come in and eat the tree and it eventually becomes soil.   Bacteria do not eat a live, healthy tree.  The same thing is true in people — bacteria are attracted to dead matter. Therefore, if you have dead matter in your body, bacteria will come in and get to work decomposing the dead tissue so that it may eventually become soil.

The world has been teeming with bacteria (germs), as micro-organisms form the basis of all other forms of life. They manufacture soil out of rock, destroy unhealthy tissues of plants, man and animals, break down dead tissues to be used again, and actually form an essential part of the body and body functions. The behavior of the various forms of bacteria in the body is dependent on the environment within the body (which should be healthy but very often in humans is not), and it is only when the environment within becomes deteriorated, that many normal bacteria change from a benign form to a pathological form, again as a natural consequence. In Nature it is the survival of the species that counts, and individuals are expendable for the survival of the majority. The weak or sickly in the wild are not tolerated to handicap the group, and one way or another are soon eliminated by predators appointed for the purpose. C’est la vie. So when a person allows a pathological condition of body chemistry to develop within them they should realize that what follows is not a perversity of fate or an unlucky encounter with germs of a criminal nature, but merely another step in a natural sequence of events.

Our medical scientists have succeeded in giving the word “germ” a significance and dread power, ludicrously all out of proportion to the part these organisms actually play in the life processes of the individual human being.

One would imagine, from the way the medical professions speak, that one tiny germ or bacillus (countless thousands of which would scarcely cover the head of a pin) has only to enter the body of a “healthy” individual for that individual to be stricken with some foul disease or other. Perhaps typhoid! Perhaps tuberculosis! And modern man goes around terrified out of his life because of the existence of these tiny creatures which he believes are always threatening him, and which only the most powerful microscope can reveal to his shuddering gaze.

It is time people realise what germs really are, and the role they really do play, if any, in the setting up and development of disease.

We completely ignore the part played by the individual himself in the setting up of disease within his own body, and throw all the emphasis on purely erroneous factors, such as germs.

It is this conditioning that we need to change in our belief systems, as it does not allow us to take our health to the next level.

NO ONE can do harm to your body, but YOU.

Bechamp’s theory placed all of the responsibility of disease prevention on the individual and his lifestyle and if you seriously think about it, it will blow your mind open to a whole new way of living.

The Truth: About Refined Cooking Oil

Approximately over 100 million tons of edible oils are being consumed annually in India. That’s a lot of Oil.

The presence of toxins even in small quantities may have profound effect on the health and well-being of the common masses including me and you.

Most people believe that brands like Saffola and other refined oils are healthy for us, as they claim to reduce cholesterol. Below is a detailed process of how cooking oil is refined for you to decide if you still think it is healthy for you.

Refining:
Oil refining is a process where crude oils; i.e. natural oils from vegetables are refined to remove any substances that may contribute to off flavor, off odor, undesirable color, or for keeping standardization, and standardization is required because if 100 million tons are being sold, there would be chaos at the supermarket if every bottle would be different in color and clarity as it is naturally supposed to be.

Step 1: “Washing” of oil using water, salts and acids in order to remove waxes, phosphates and other impurities.

Step 2: Oil undergoes a neutralization process. Alkali which is soap mixed with oil and heated to 180F. A separator then removes the soap from the oil.

Step 3: The oil is subjected to “physical” refinement to remove odor compounds by vacuum steam distillation process.

Step 4: Next the oil is subjected to cooling. By doing this, some fats will crystallize and are removed using filtration.

Step 5: The oil is then bleached. This process stabilized the oil. Bleaching involves using clay to remove color and impurities from the oil. Oil is bleached by heating it to 130F, and mixing with clay. The mixture is held for several minutes and then the hot oil is filtered from the clay and cooled.

Step 6: Hydrogenation process is completed by pumping pressurized hydrogen into an agitated tank filled with oil. This must be done in the presence of a catalyst metal, such as nickel. Hydrogenation is done at 204C and pressure of 60psig.

Do we want to be eating the end result of this rigorous procedure? It has already been the cause of much illness, continuing to eat this is to ask for irreversible damage to health.

Testing survey work carried out: This project was undertaken to spell out the heavy metal contamination in edible oils, especially the chemically processed ones like Hydrogenated vegetable oils & Refined oils. For example Nickel is used as a hydrogenating catalyst for hardening of vegetable oils. Nickel has adverse effect on Respiratory system, liver, skin, metabolism, interaction with DNA/RNA, crosses Placental barrier also carcinogenic action.
Popular brands of HVO viz. Rath, Ruchi,Gagan, Dalda, Panghat, Suhagin, No.1, Postman, Vital, Crystal, Saffola, Dalda refined, Dhara etc. were collected randomly from the local market belonging to different batch numbers and subjected to testing/screening for the presence of heavy metals.

Following the discovery of high nickel residual contents in the edible vegetable oils including hydrogenated vegetable oils, the Indian Prevention of Food Adulteration Act has been amended to incorporate the fixing of maximum upper limit of Nickel (1.5 ppm) in the vegetable oils. But please note, it’s still allowed and if it’s a small quantity it all eventually adds up!

Bottom line

Refining is accomplished with the addition of sodium hydroxide and temperatures around 450 degrees. The refined oil is not considered edible without further processing, such as filtration, deodorization, bleaching.

The process of refining oils is equivalent to the refining of whole wheat and whole sugar into white ones. In all cases, one takes a product full of natural vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other food factors and reduces the original natural food into a relative “nonfood”—devitalized, stripped.

Crude oils i.e. cold pressed Oil, retain their natural anti-oxidants; which contains all its natural vitamin A, all its natural vitamin E, all its natural lecithin, and all of the other natural food factors.

Refined oils find their way into the human food chain and become the raw material for every cell in your body. Countless diseases like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, allergies, emphysema, stomach ulcers, premature aging, impotence, hypoglycemia and arthritis exist because chemically synthesized substances disrupt the bio-chemistry of hundreds of billions of microscopic living cells which make up the body.

The life of most cells is short; new cells are constantly being made to replace dead ones. The raw materials for this rebuilding come from the blood stream. When it contains toxins, the process of rebuilding cells is disrupted. Resistance to disease diminishes. If you have a genetic weakness and continue to eat refined oil, the cumulative effect of toxins will increase the risk of becoming a host to disease.

Eradicating every guilty pleasure in life is not the end goal here, nor is it a particularly realistic approach to making changes…we all enjoy the occasional pav bhaji, cheeseburger, fries, or bag of chips. But it’s important to understand the consequences of making what ought to be an occasional treat into your mainstay diet.

Opt for unrefined sesame or mustard oil when it comes to cooking . Make sure to not use Extra Virgin Olive oil for cooking as it has a low burn point.

OIL, SALT & SUGAR are basics that we all require and are important for good health. At least make sure these are natural and pure.

The Truth: About Pain

Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience usually produced by something that injures, or threatens to injure, the body. Although pain is something that we invariably want to escape or to stop, it serves several very important functions.

Pain protects us by triggering a reflexive withdrawal from something damaging before we can suffer further injury, such as when we drop a hot pan before we sustain extensive burns.

It is also a warning system that lets us know when an injury is about to occur: the burning ache in our muscles during extreme exertion warns us to stop using them.

Pain forces us to immobilize or protect an injured part, such as a broken ankle, thus giving it a chance to heal.

Most importantly pain also lets us know when we need to seek medical help, and teaches us what behaviors to avoid in the future.

Understanding this type of Pain is crucial, as this understanding alone can change the way you perceive health.

Pain is your body’s way of communicating with you and protecting you.

It is NOT your enemy or an inconvenience that needs to be eradicated at the earliest.

Pain is a sign from your body saying “please pay attention to me”

Pain is your doctor that is warning you of trouble.

When a message comes into the brain from anywhere in the body, the brain tells the body how to react. For example, if you accidentally touch a hot stove, the nerves in your skin shoot a message of pain to your brain. The brain then sends a message back telling the muscles in your hand to pull away. Luckily, this neurological relay race takes a lot less time than it just took to read about it.

We cannot bear the thought of being sick as it involves pain/discomfort and upsets an already tight schedule, but the only way the body can get your attention is by localizing the area of the problem and indicating it to you through pain.

Did you know that More than 100,000 chemical reactions go on in your brain every second! Among the brain’s many jobs is to be your own chemist. The brain produces more than 50 identified active drugs. Some of these are associated with memory, intelligence, pain, sedatives etc. The human body can release chemical compounds like opiates that can help the body to kill its own pain. Three such groups of chemicals are known as endorphins, Enkephalins and Dynorphins.

Endorphin is the brain’s natural painkiller, and it is 3 times more potent than morphine.

Which only means that if the body creates pain, there is a method to the madness, as it also has its own internal pharmacy to resolve it, the body will reduce the pain once it is assured that it is being looked into and healed.

Acute pain is one which occurs almost immediately upon tissue damage or injury and lasts only a limited time.

A Chronic Pain lasts for weeks, months, or years and is a major source of suffering, disability, and economic loss.

When chronic pain persists, it can be quite destructive. In effect, we make it a disease in itself. We medicate the pain and suppress it without even touching the real cause.

Pharmaceutical pain killers may get you back on track in a short period of time, but over the long run it will cause more harm than good as suppressing with pain killers promote toxicity in our bodies, which in turn causes more Dis-ease, and absolutely no healing is achieved.

Don’t just “Silence” your body, “Listen” to it.

The best approach to pain is to identify the cause and remove it. This should always be the primary goal.

The Truth: About Malaria

If  you think getting Malaria is no fault of yours, and it’s the damn anopheles mosquito’s that causes it….. You are ONLY half right, as  a mosquito only carries the parasites that cause Malaria,  and the parasites can only cause havoc if you let it.

Everything, from the planet to the parasite is created for a purpose, and causing you harm is on no ones list. There are many “parasites” in your body, most of these are symbiotic relationships, meaning that you need them as much as they need you.

In fact, if you were laying on a table and could make all your human cells go away, a perfect 3-D image of your shape would remain in place as there are more foreign cells in your body than human ones.

As you might know by now, I am not a great friend of killings things in the body, including parasites, fungi and bacteria, to do so would leave billions of corpses of organisms behind that would cause more problems than if they were kept alive to do what they are created for – Decomposing waste products and weak or dead cells.

If they are creating havoc in your body, please understand – They are there by Invitation Only!!

For example: The mosquito needs a stagnant pool of water for its life cycle, it does not invade a body of water and make it stagnant.  It finds a body of water that already provides the kind of environment that it can thrive in.

It is the same with all infections in the body, the environment was created first, and so if there is stagnant morbid matter in your body, then the living creatures that need that type of environment will naturally seek it out and thrive in it.

The real cause of malaria, as in case of any other infectious diseases, is wrong eating habits and a faulty lifestyle, which weakens your immunity resulting in the system being clogged with toxin, accumulated systemic refuse and morbid (dead) matter that is just sitting in your body inviting the parasites to come feast.

It is on this soil of toxicity and morbid matter that the malaria parasite breeds.

The liberal use of denatured foods today such as white sugar, white rice, white flour and products made from them, as well as tinned foods, strong tea, coke, Pepsi, tea, coffee and alcoholic beverages, lower the vitality of the system and paves the way for the development of malaria which is caused by a tiny parasite called plasmodium. The parasites grow in the liver of a person for a few days and then enter the bloodstream where they invade the red blood cells. The female anopheles mosquito draws a small quantity of blood containing the parasites, when she bites a person who has malaria. These parasites then pass through several stages of development within the mosquito’s body and finally find their way to its salivary glands. There they lie in wait for an opportunity to enter the bloodstream of the next person. However upon entering the blood stream, if your immune system is firing on all cylinders, the parasites will not stand a chance of survival, let alone multiplying.

As you can see, it is crucial to keep your immune system strong. With the way the planet is headed, many more H1N1 swine flu, dengue fever and malaria parasites are going to be floating around, and you need to be protected from the inside out, not outside in.

A High Fever is the most common procedure carried out by the body for of all types of Malaria and this is done to kill the parasites and cure you naturally. Malaria DOES NOT necessarily require antibiotic treatment. Your body is the most advanced pharmacy in the world, it is important you stimulate it to do the work it is designed to do and heal you naturally, rather than callously supplement it.

Last but not the least use Citronella, as it repels insects such as mosquitoes, black flies, fleas and ticks therefore, preventing its bites. Citronella oil/incense stick is a natural non-toxic alternative to chemical poisonous insect repellents like Good Night and Mortien which contains DEET (N,N-diethyl-3-methylbenzamide). They may prevent malaria but cause other adverse effects like insomnia, muscle cramps, mood disturbances and rashes.

The Truth: About Armpit Odour

This article touches on a subject that’s quite sensitive to many people, making it even more important to understand.

Try going 24 hours with no deodorant. If you can’t stand the smell from the outside, just imagine what your body smells like on the inside!

Armpits are designed to sweat. I know that may sound insanely simple, because everybody knows that armpits sweat, but I’m saying that armpits are supposed to perspire. Perspiring is a natural function of the human body primarily to regulate your body temperature, but there’s more to it than just cooling your body through perspiration. Another vital function of the sweat glands in your armpits is to excrete toxins from your body.

That’s why sweating is an important part of maintaining optimum physical health.

You have to give your body a chance to get rid of various toxins through a variety of metabolic processes. Those include urination, passing fecal matter, exhaling carbon dioxide and other toxins through the lungs, and, of course, eliminating toxins through the skin. The skin is after all, your body’s largest organ.

Yet people go to great lengths to prevent their armpits from sweating. Most people do this to prevent body odour, not understanding that body odour and sweating are two different things.

Sweating is natural, body odour is NOT.

The real cause of armpit odour is the intentional excretion of horrible toxins that your body is trying to get rid of.

It as simple as: What comes out of your body reflects what you put in!!

The way to eliminate body odor, then, is not to mask it with unhealthful deodorant products containing toxic chemicals and derivatives of heavy metals like aluminum and propylene glycol, but rather to clean up your body from the inside out. In other words, if your armpits have a horrible raunchy smell, that’s an indication that your diet needs some adjusting.

Antiperspirants may leave the outside of the body smelling fresh and clean – but inside, the toxins that would have escaped the body in the sweat have nowhere to go because you block the exit door and force those toxins to stay in your system! The problem with deodorants and antiperspirants is not only the aluminum or propylene glycol, but how it works to reduce sweat and smelly odors. Aluminum compounds, are key ingredients in almost every antiperspirant. They are powerful astringents that close pores, stopping sweat and odor from escaping the body. For this reason, antiperspirants are linked to problems with the sweat glands and lymph glands in and around the underarms. What’s more, “antiperspirants are designed to be absorbed “; the aluminum and many other chemicals are taken into the body and into the blood, eventually affecting everything, especially the endocrine and lymphatic systems, causing various health issues like Cancer and Alzheimer’s disease, that may not even seem related.

If it still seems like a task that cannot be endeavored, at least start by choosing less chemicalized deodorants. Make sure to read the ingredients very carefully. AVOID any deodorant that contains any of the following chemicals in any form;

Aluminum
Triclosan
Propylene glycol
Parabens
Talc
Silica
Steareth-n

The Truth: About Common Cold

If you catch a cold every time you meet someone with a cold, does NOT make a cold contagious.

Contrary to what most people believe, the truth is that a Cold is NOT contagious. In laboratory experiments, mucus was passed from the nose of an “infected” individual to the nose of healthy ones, and it was found that they could not intentionally transmit the cold.

The truth is a Common Cold is caused mainly by exposure to two types of viruses, Rhinoviruses and Coronaviruses. These viruses are present in the surroundings everywhere, all the time. If the virus is present everywhere, all the time, how come everybody does not have a cold? How come the virus chooses to attack only you or a few?

The real cause of a Cold is the toxic condition of the body brought about by wrong eating habits such as excessive intake of dairy, starch, carbohydrates, junk food, acid-forming foods, lack of sleep, fatigue and allergic disorders of the nose and throat which weaken the immune system, the duration of the cold will depend on the amount of poisons accumulated in the body and the rapidity with which they are expelled.

A cold is nature’s simplest way of expelling toxic waste from the human system.

Most people are also unaware that there is still NO Allopathic cure for  a common cold, because there are more than 200 subtypes of the virus, and it is difficult to tell one type from the other and develop a medicine for each one.

Over-the-counter cold and cough medications sold to adults and children will only kill the symptoms but not the virus. Decongestants and pain relievers offer some symptom relief, but they won’t prevent a cold or shorten its duration, and most have side effects if used for more than a few days.

Prevention is the ONLY way to avoid a common cold. Once attacked, there’s nothing much you can do about it, except rest and wait for it to go. A Cold can be altogether prevented by proper rest, a vitamin-rich diet and Yoga.

The Truth: About FDA

FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION

Straight from the horse’s mouth: Here is what the  FDA claims their job is:

The FDA is responsible for protecting the public health by assuring the safety, efficacy, and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products, medical devices, our nation’s food supply, cosmetics, and products that emit radiation. The FDA is also responsible for advancing the public health by helping to speed innovations that make medicines and foods more effective, safer, and more affordable; and helping the public get the accurate, science-based information they need to use medicines and foods to improve their health.

When a lay person reads this, the most normal reaction is to take a sigh of relief and religiously look for FDA approvals on everything you buy.

For no fault of yours, it’s not your forte! You assume that the FDA is the expert and they will take care of our safety when it comes to food.

Well they don’t !!!

I understand that this is an outrageous claim to make, and most of you are probably thinking “now she’s pushing it too far”  but stay with me and I hope to show you’ll what I see.

Lets take macaroni and cheese, as an example, the type you buy (ready to eat) that you get at all super markets across the world.(India Included).

Below is what the FDA labeling says behind each box.

Enriched Macaroni Product (Wheat Flour, Niacin, Ferrous Sulfate [Iron], Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Cheese Sauce Mix (Whey, Modified Food Starch, Whey Protein Concentrate, Cheddar Cheese [Milk, Cheese Culture, Salt, Enzymes], Granular Cheese [Milk, Cheese Culture, Salt, Enzymes], Salt, Calcium Carbonate, Potassium Chloride, Contains Less than 2% of Parmesan Cheese [Part-Skim Milk, Cheese Culture, Salt, Enzymes], Dried Buttermilk, Sodium Tripolyphosphate, Blue Cheese [Milk, Cheese Culture, Salt, Enzymes], Sodium Phosphate, Medium Chain Triglycerides, Cream, Citric Acid, Lactic Acid, Enzymes, Yellow 5, Yellow 6).

Modified food starch is an additive that increases the bulk of a food. Other additives include potassium chloride that are used instead of salt to decrease the sodium level in foods, sodium tripolyphosphate  is used to maintain moisture, Medium Chain Triglycerides is a substitute for regular oil. Artificial colors yellow 5 & 6 have shown to cause neural problems in some children.

How come all this is not mentioned?

Lets assume that they are aware and are monitoring the quantity of additives and preservatives that are being added, and lets say the FDA makes sure, that the food item does not exceed a certain amount of chemicals in it, there by making it safe to consume.

Heres the catch:

FDA safety standards are calculated per serving, so if you eat one serving of anything that is FDA approved, you would be under the danger limit. but if you eat it everyday, which is what most of us do with products like Oil, chips, cookies, chocolates, bread etc

The chemicals start adding up…. slowly and steadily they poison you !!!

Dyes, bleaches, antioxidants, preservatives, chemical flavors, buffers, noxious sprays, alkalizers, acidifiers, deodorants, moisteners, drying agents, expanders, modifiers, emulsifiers, stabilizers, thickeners, clarifiers, disinfectants, defoliants, fungicides, neutralizers, anticaking and antifoaming agents, hydrolyzers, hydrogenators, synthetic hormones, steroids and four thousand other drugs that just make your mouth water with anticipation, are being used extensively so that food can be standardized, stocked and distributed without rotting !!!

It’s all building up and the biggest proof of this, is the general ill-health in society. We have an epidemic of cancer, obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, and many other such ailments today.

The mind surely plays a big role in maintaining optimum health, but so does the food you eat !!
